EA brings back The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 for PC, including all DLCs and expansions.
This month, EA and Maxis are celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Sims franchise, and they’ve just surprised fans with a nostalgic treat. As some rumors predicted, the game that started it all in 2000—The Sims—along with its iconic sequel, The Sims 2, have been fully re-released for modern PCs!
The Sims Legacy Collection & The Sims 2 Legacy Collection
These special editions are now available for PC, allowing players to relive their virtual life management journeys. In the official announcement, EA shared:
“To honor our legacy and thank the incredible fans who have been with us all along, we are re-releasing two beloved titles featuring familiar neighborhoods and iconic characters—such as the sneaky burglar, the unpredictable genie, and Sunny the Tragic Clown—that started it all.”

Modern Enhancements, Nostalgic Experience
While the gameplay and graphics retain their classic charm, EA has upgraded the rendering engine, improved resolution scaling for large screens, fixed some legacy bugs, and optimized both games to run smoothly on Windows 10 and 11. Best of all, old save files from the original versions are still compatible!
